LET’S KEEP ON BUILDING HISTORY

Even the best filmmakers could not have ever imagine what we are experiencing today in the world. A pandemic that would limit even one the most essential things for the human being, to socialize with others. This new scenario calls us to meditate in all areas and of course, we as a Company are not strangers to these questions.

All the information points out that the best way to protect us from the Virus is by isolating ourselves, but, on the other hand, all the countries have faced a complex economic situation because of the cessation of necessary activities to decongest cities. However, some companies are necessary to protect the supply and coverage of people’s basic needs.

In our case, Enaex has a leading role in the economic development of the countries where we operate, which sets a tremendous challenge for us. We must guarantee operational continuity, making sure we are protecting the life of our people. Our priority value is LIFE, so it puts us to test in different parts of the world and this has been translated to a series of global and local initiatives that really stand out.

For the same reason, today I want to thank every collaborator of Enaex who is allowing to trace our history. This 2020 has been a different year from what was planned, where we turned 100 years and it was a milestone that we wanted to celebrate because just a few companies can do it. However, the world economy and logistic situation will not let us celebrate our accomplishment. Coronavirus has shaken the world and it is our challenge to emerge stronger from this crisis and to bring out the best of us so Enaex can continue building a great history like the one we have already fulfilled in its first century.

VP HR & Sustainability

Dear Enaex’s collaborators,

We are living confusing times, needing to protect the most basics, the health of our children, our parents, taking cover to defend ourselves from a plague that threatens our entire balance. Some families have lost their loved ones and we are afraid. Along with that, we are afraid of the future. What is going to happen with the economy of our countries, will we be able to keep feeding our families? Will unemployment and scarcity come?

We are lucky to be in a company that fulfils two characteristics. First, economic strength that allows us to face difficult times and, secondly, a company with deep conviction that people are the engine of our entire construction. We are convinced that Enaex is an entelechy; it is nothing without the people who are part of it. That conviction means that today we doing whatever it takes so the more than 4000 employees and their families successfully overcome these times of pain and fear. We are working hard so that Enaex stays afloat, I can assure you that.

In this complex situation, each one of us has had to fight from their own trench: many of Enaex’s colleagues must ensure that our production plants continue working. Others are making their effort through telecommuting with all the difficulties that this entails. Other group must be in the mine working hard on the blasting process, ensuring that the mining industry –our countries’ sustenance– keeps operating.

From their place, this is what each one of us must do: keep on working so that Enaex continues standing, being a source of work and wealth for our countries.

I especially thank our fellow workers in the mines. They have to leave their families. Please, know that we are taking every action to sanitize the places where you circulate, mitigating any possibility of contagion.

I invite you to keep on building our history, to be hopeful, courageous and joyous. Better times will come where we will be able to hug and, for sure, we will all have gained strength.

A kiss to you and each of your loved ones.

#LetsTakeCareOfEachOther

#LetsTakeCareOfEachOther has been a priority in all of our plants. That is why we have been carrying out a series of actions to keep us safe.

Andina and Polpaico/Peldehue have separated seats inside the vehicles for the use of our collaborators.

At El Teniente and Pelambres we have sanitized every single workplace.

At Collahuasi they have been using their two-filter half face mask to protect themselves.

Measuring the temperature has become a daily habit in all of our plants.

As collaborators of El Soldado show.

At Enaex Britanite we have numerous hand sanitizer dispensers available.

For the collaborators at Héry, Prillex and Rio Loa it has been primordial to maintain social distance in face-to-face meetings and in common spaces.
