JUAN ANDRÉS ERRÁZURIZ
CEO of Enaex
[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
On this 100th anniversary and particularly on the 1st of July, we had a highly relevant milestone for our Company: the creation of a new subsidiary, Enaex Africa, which allow us to be present in every continent in the globe. Why it is so important?
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1592532718733{padding-right: 3% !important;padding-left: 3% !important;}”][vc_column_text]It is a clear sign that are working on our mission to become the most prestigious company in our industry, delivering first class blasting solution in the most important mining regions of the world.
Certainly, Africa is a strategic mining regon, being the third largest market in the world in consumption of explosives and the one with biggest potential. Also, it has a wide market in underground mining, which will grant us to incorporate expertise, generate new solutions to our clients problems and developments in this type of mining. Solidifying our worldwide presence doubtlessly means adding a value to our clients.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Furthermore, this milestone is a statement that our Company is ready to continue growing and developing, even in difficult times. This means we believe in long-term projects and, above all, we believe in our team. Also, it shows the solid support of our shareholders and investors.
Nevertheless, the most important item is that today we add 1,100 people to our Enaex family, who allow us to expand our knowledge, broaden our base of multiculturalism, visions and will be a great contribution to the entire Company.
With great pride, on behalf of all Enaex, I welcome Enaex Africa to the family![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1592532718733{padding-right: 3% !important;padding-left: 3% !important;}”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_gallery type=”image_grid” images=”507,506,505,504,503″][vc_separator style=”dotted” border_width=”3″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”496″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]
CLAUDIO YÉVENES
Vicepresident Chemicals Business Unit
[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
Doubtlessly, we have been compulsorily exposed to a change these recent few months, which for many of you, at least in its magnitude, has been the first in your lives. Like most change processes, it entails opportunities, challenges and learnings that we must be capable of humble incorporating into both our personal and working life.
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]At our Chemicals business unit, as time elapses, we have faced with this new scenario of taking care of each other, teleworking, closing of countries’ borders and, therefore the abrupt drop of ammonium nitrate exports. Hence, we have decided to look at such scenario from a new different perspective: from chemistry to physics. What does this mean? It means to release the best from us, our potential and talent while using them both to take concrete actions to create motion and value, just like the chemicals of an explosive undergoes a physical process to crack the rock and get its full potential. Based on this logic, we have been able, as a team, to cope with every single dimension and challenge we aim at this year.
In the ammonium nitrate business, we have been progressing in the Nitrate Trading project by closing supply agreements with suppliers in Vietnam, thanks to a collaborative work with Renaldo Maras (VP E3A) and in United States thanks to Shane Jones and Dan Francelj (VP Latam East) as well. Similarly, we have been tackling the closing of countries’ borders in South America by delivering 20k MT of Ammonium Nitrate to a demanding market as Australia, thanks to the collaboration of Martin Vasilescu (VP E3A). Under these difficult times, this has allowed to contribute to the business margin, manage our stocks while keeping our Prillex® América Plant operating. All these have been the result from the tireless efforts made by our logistic department to find out the best maritime alternatives.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]In the production field, Prillex® América Plant has managed to maintain operational continuity without neglecting the safety and care for our people. This has allowed achieving record production of over 70 KMT per month and historical conversion costs, thus helping improve both competitiveness and margins during these difficult months.
Thanks to the ISO14001:2015 certification achieved, we can reassure our keystone commitment with both environment and sustainability. Additionally, we have made several donations of critical sanitary supplies to somehow face the huge impact of the Covid19 pandemic in the communities.
In the same breath, the non-mining chemical products unit, Nittra, in a clear example of collaborative, agile yet full of conviction work, developed in record time the sanitizer, Nittrex Gel, to continue contributing to the fight against the coronavirus. From Brazil we have also received good news, since together with the ISO9001:2015 certification, we have strengthened our position there by selling nitric acid while in turn taking advantage of opportunities in Argentina with the sale of ammonia, thus approaching new clients, meeting their needs and closing new business deals.
We still have a long way to go; we know we are facing an uncertain scenario; so let’s keep our conviction from chemistry to physics, as our potential will turn into action, as crisis will bring opportunities. I would like to thank everyone at Enaex for the commitment shown and I kindly invite you to join this journey of changes and learnings.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1592538942748{background-color: #e1251b !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Fitch Ratings affirms Enaex at “AA-(cl)”; Outlook stable
The american credit rating agency, Fitch Ratings, ratified Enaex as a “AA- ” national long-term rating company thanks to our strong and historic capital and liquidity structure, even in a complex scenario like we are actually living.
The evaluation valued the operational continuity of the plants and the incorporation of greater added-value products for our clients. Regarding the finance structure, the company EDIBTA is within reasonable margins due to contingency, maintaining health, low and reliable indicators.
Fitch positively highlighted Enaex’s entry into the African market throughout the Joint Venture with Sasol, forming Enaex Africa, since it means a beneficial strategic collaboration between both companies, taking a firm step forward in our mission to become the most prestigious company in the industry, delivering premium blasting solution in the most important mining regions in the world.
“As a company we are proud with the results of the evaluation carried out by Fitch Ratings as it confirms the stability and solvency of our business. This result would not be possible without the immense commitment shown daily by all our collaborators. No doubt, it is another achievement to celebrate in our century and to continue building history”, said Pablo Busquet, Enaex CFO.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator align=”align_left” border_width=”5″ el_width=”50″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”499″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]
Brazil
CSN is Enaex’s new client in Brazil.
Enaex’s new client, CSN Mineração, is the second largest iron ore exporter in Brazil. The new contract began in July and includes rock fragmentation services rendered to the CSN Group. Twelve full-time employees will be exclusively dedicated to the contract and based in this new unit.
More than products and services, every day we are increasingly recognized for delivering added value to our clients’ businesses. This market positioning has been essential in making Enaex a strategic partner for the most important mining companies in the country, which also includes CSN.
“This is a major milestone for Enaex Britanite, we’re very excited about it and ready to guarantee this contract’s deliverables, with client satisfaction, sustainability and safety for all”, says Diogo Barros – Operation Manager.
This new client represents a historical milestone for the company, reaffirming and solidifying our company in the mining sector.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator align=”align_left” border_width=”5″ el_width=”50″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”497″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]
O-Pitblast:
Global EMTS’s preferred design software
Drill and blast design software is a crucial element for Enaex’s operation as it allows our engineers to apply the correct energy (charge design) in the correct place (drill design) at the correct time (initiation timing design) to produce the blasting outcome required by our customers in terms of fragmentation, wall control, vibration control, and dilution control.
In February 2019, a global EMTS workshop took place with the mission to define the drill and blast design software strategy. At the time, multiple softwares were being used by Enaex engineers across the globe. This proved inefficient as it required different training processes, software licences and contracts, and it implied that each site had a different way of working and storing historical information.
After thoroughly evaluating options, including the possibility of developing our own software, O-Pitblast was chosen to be the designated global software. This young company from Portugal offered both the experience and flexibility to suit Enaex’s current and future needs. The capability of O-Pitblast to capture data in the field via tablets, compare against design, and store in the cloud for access to all who required it was a key feature of their software. Also, the data that the system stores is a critical piece of the puzzle for our Enaex Bright® project as well as the functionality of the software that allows to capture data on the field enabling a better QA/QC conciliation.
There have been important developments and improvements in the software, to meet Enaex’s needs and standards. The objective is to co-create, alongside O-Pitblast and incorporating Enaex’s technical knowledge, a software that caters for our needs and those of our clients. The O-Pitblast software is currently being deployed across our operations in Latin America, with Enaex Peru being the first country to implement it in 2018 with great success. Trainings for the design and field capture features are currently underway in multiple mines of Enaex Chile and Brazil, which has meant a great effort and dedication from the EMTS and Operations teams involved.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator align=”align_left” border_width=”5″ el_width=”40″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”500″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]
PERU
New milestone for Cachimayo
Nearly 2 years ago, Enaex entered strongly into the Peruvian market with the mission of meeting our clients’ needs with the high quality and technology standards that have distinguish the company for 100 years. Thus, today we can communicate with pride that the emulsion plant in Cachimayo is already operating after a year and a half of construction.
All started back in February 2019 when the first phase of construction of the plant began, being finished in June of 2020.
This new plant has the capacity of producing 10,000 tons of emulsions per month in a beginning, with the capacity of generating 20,000 tons per month. In this way, Cachimayo becomes the largest emulsion plant in Peru, and important added value to enter the competitive market of explosive emulsions in that country, and thus consolidate Enaex as a leader in the mining business.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator align=”align_left” border_width=”5″ el_width=”50″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”501″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]
Chile
Nittrex gel:
Innovation and solidarity during the crisis
Nittra is a division of the vice-presidency of the chemical business unit, which has the mission of providing non-mining explosive, such as Anhydrous Ammonia, Nitric Acid, Ammonium Nitrate, among others.
Because of the sanitary crisis provoked by the COVID-19, the high demand of hand sanitizers has caused shortages at many stores. As a solution, Nittra took the opportunity and manufactured their own alcohol-based hand sanitizer thanks to the knowledge of the chemists who are part of the company, achieving, with an agile work, Nittrex Gel. This product passed the Chilean certifications and has all the corresponding legal and sanitary regulations for its distribution.
During mi-July, Nittra donated approximately 1,200 litres of this new product to the communities of Paine and Buin to help farm markets, hospital, COVID patients. Soon, Nittrex Gel will be donated to Mejillones and be available in stores.
This is a huge step for innovation in times of crisis, prioritizing LIFE throughout the commitment with the communities and putting people’s safety first.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator align=”align_left” border_width=”5″ el_width=”50″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”498″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]
Brazil
PRODUCTION RECORDS IN THE MAIN PLANT AND AT ESCADA
Even facing the difficulties posed by the current global scenario, the teams working in the main plant and at Escada have reached relevant production records.
All of our employees have worked together to allow the following areas to reach new and important production milestones:
- Pumped Emulsion
- Nitropenta
- Booster
- Brinel
We cannot forget to mention the importance of the several supporting areas which have contributed to these relevant outcomes, as without the commitment of everyone involved in the process, it would not be feasible to reach this level of production.
These results stem from the dedication and commitment of the entire team, which, day in day out, works diligently to reach the highest standards when it comes to quality, technology and services.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator align=”align_left” border_width=”5″ el_width=”40″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1592538942748{background-color: #e1251b !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text]
