JUAN ANDRÉS ERRÁZURIZ
CEO ENAEX[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

We are approaching our 100th anniversary having reached important milestones throughout our existence; however, I continue to be amazed at how we have been able to keep building history and growth in the last few years. This is clearly evident in our fleet: the trucks that allow us to move the solutions to conduct the blastings in the mining sites. Only 10 years ago, Enaex’s fleet was basically concentrated in Chile, and today, in this country, it only represents one-third of the total. We have more than 300 trucks worldwide, and they are mainly concentrated in Brazil, Chile and now in South Africa, besides the organic growth of countries like Peru.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″ css=”.vc_custom_1592532718733{padding-right: 3% !important;padding-left: 3% !important;}”][vc_column_text]In this context, both Pablo Busquet and José Miguel Camelio have taken on an important strategic fleet management initiative, which they will address further below. Just to give you an idea of the relevance of the fleet for Enaex, our investment in its maintenance occupies the 52% of the total investment made by the Company.

I would like to highlight that in this initiative we have managed to generate synergy, hence taking the best practices that have been developed in Brazil, South Africa, and Chile. In the latter country, we have a story of success with the improvement of fleet availability standards: Out of 104 trucks that were required to comply with all operations in Chile, today we only need 91 for the same operations. This means that we have had an improvement in the availability from 80% to 88% in just one year and a half, with associated cost savings of 30%. This outcome is the result of the exhaustive work of the team, which has managed to address the issue on different fronts, while also partnering with SKC, an expert in fleet management, which in turn is also part of our business group.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The challenges we have are huge. Today we have to manage a fleet that is three times bigger than the one we had a couple of years ago and that is in different places around the world. On the other hand, we must also think about the fleet of the future, about interoperability, that is to say, the intercommunication of our fleet with the team in the mine and with our own information control centers. Anticipating the products of the future will guarantee that their formulation and application are suitable for the new fleet.

Finally, I would like to give special thanks to all the teams that have been in charge of the efficiency of our fleet. Their hard work has guaranteed that our growth is not a hindrance to operating with the best standards.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1592532718733{padding-right: 3% !important;padding-left: 3% !important;}”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”597″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]

PABLO BUSQUET
CFO Enaex[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

First of all, it is a pleasure to be able to communicate with you all through this means. Today, I would like to comment on the accelerated growth of our fleet, distributed in all corners of the world, and the huge challenge it has posed in its construction, maintenance, operation, and mainly in the collaboration of the teams involved in this task.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The high levels of Capex and Opex associated with a fleet of this magnitude, added to the high delivery times of new equipment (time to market) required a strategic solution. This is how the Fleet Management Program was born. More than an initiative, it is a project that, in conjunction with a collaborative multicultural and multidisciplinary team, and using a total-cost-from-ownership perspective – focusing on processes and operational efficiency – has sought to reduce investments and total costs, improve the time to market of the new equipment, and improve the operational model surrounding Enaex’s fleet of more than 300 factory trucks.

A fundamental pillar in this project has been the collaborative work between the different areas involved from Brazil, Chile, and South Africa, who have taken a leading role in both diagnosis and implementation, allowing us to draw out the best practices from each side to save costs considerably.

One of the plans has been to focus on the suppliers as strategic allies, which has allowed us to link up more closely with them and realize the benefits we had within the region. We rescued the excellent Brazilian manufacturing and the collaborative work with SK in Chile.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Today, we are already working for Chile with a truck of our own design that can be manufactured both in Brazil and in Chile at a much lower total cost of ownership than we had before the initiative.

The “Business Intelligence” in the fleet is the next step, standardizing its technology so that we can monitor the performance and productivity of the equipment on each side. Here, the Enaex Bright project of the Vice President of Customer Experience and Digital Transformation will play an essential role, providing us with a lot of information through the cloud for fleet management.

It has not been an easy path, but all of this has been achieved thanks to the conviction of the teams in the different countries, who have given time to make analyses and have coordinated themselves effectively. It is a giant challenge that not only allows us to generate cost efficiencies, but also to deliver a better product and services to our customers.

Thank you very much to this great multicultural team![/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1592538942748{background-color: #e1251b !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Brazil – Chile
BRINEL TO CHILE PROJECT

This year ENAEX is implementing the use of Brinel in the Chilean market, for the Open Pit services. The objective of the Project is to replace the non-electric used in Chile by Brinel, produced in Brazil, considering that Brinel is more competitive in cost and safety.

Business Support area started this project last year, involving several areas in Brazil and Chile, such as Production, Logistics, Quality Control, Operations and Services, Costs, Export, EMTS, R&D, among others. There are more than 40 people between the two countries.

The feasibility study was done considering that, the products have the same functionality, but technically, they have some important differences. Considering this aspect, we work hard on the Change Management, to implement this changing successfully.

Chile has already received two shipments and for 2020 we estimate the shipment of 400 thousand units and this volume means an approximate benefit of USD 450.000. For 2021, this value can reach more than 1 million dollars depending on the supply strategy to be defined between Brazil and Chile.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank very much for the work and especially the collaboration of everyone involved in this project, which with much effort, dedication and commitment made this change possible, which brings many benefits to ENAEX in terms of strengthening the use of our products and increasing our competitiveness.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator align=”align_left” border_width=”5″ el_width=”50″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”595″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]

France
WELL-BEING IN DAVEYNEL AREA

Launched in February 2018, this pilot project aims to free up the creative energies of production staff by enabling them to identify and manage independently targets designed to improve their working conditions.

Helped at the start by an external consultant, this original group consists of volunteer operators, their supervisor, the human resources assistant and the internal communications manager.

Over the months, the actions carried out concern, for example, ergonomics at the workstation, installation of a cleaning kit for each product line, allocation of an individual kit with small equipment per operator and purchase of a refrigerator…

The group’s most ambitious project concerned the complete renovation of an ordinary break room used by many operators to transform it in a convivial place to have a hot drink, to consult the company intranet or to exchange with colleagues in a relaxing and soft atmosphere.

After several months of works with different departments (purchasing, infrastructure, HSE), the inauguration took place on September 30, 2020 in the presence of management and staff representatives.  This new break room is called AU FIL DE L’EAU and is decorated with a mural fresco created by an employee who loves painting as a hobby.
