HISTORIC EVENT: ENAEX PERFORMS THE FIRST REMOTE-CONTROLLED BLASTING IN A MINING OPERATION

July 8, 2021 will be remembered forever at Enaex. This day marked one of the most important milestones in the company’s history with the first remote-controlled blasting in a national and global mining operation.

Using remote operation technology for loading blasting agents and plugging shafts, a remote-controlled blasting was carried out for the first time in a productive mining operation. This process was developed in complex and risky mining circumstances, where access to people was restricted and therefore the use of technology was critical for operational continuity. Using Mine-iTruck and Stemming-iTruck equipment, our robotic equipment operators performed a remote operation from a control station in a safe and secure manner.

In view of this important event, Enaex Robotics Manager, Marco Ruiz, said “This milestone is the result of the high commitment and passion behind these technological developments, for which we have always focused on protecting Life and fostering Innovation. We firmly believe that robotic technology will be a fundamental element to continue building our purpose as a company: humanizing mining. It has been a tremendous result, which fills us with pride and demonstrates the high commitment and technical level of the Enaex Robotics team and the Enaex Operations team”.
