GREAT PARTICIPATION IN WORK CLIMATE PULSE SURVEY

During the second half of April, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Mexico and the United States conducted the first Work Climate Pulse survey of the year. This survey seeks to measure the current work climate in the company in the areas of Leadership, Safety, Agility and NPS. The results of this survey will help us generate action plans.

With a total of 2033 responses – representing 82.5% of the universe of the six countries -, in this edition of the survey, we had an outstanding participation of Mexico and Colombia (100%), and Peru (97%), and a significant improvement in the results of Mexico compared to the 2021 edition. Furthermore, 83.4% of the Leaders in the countries surveyed received a positive evaluation, which is a satisfactory result, but at the same time an important challenge to continue improving the work experience in the company.

Stay tuned for feedback from the Leaders and action plans!

CEO AND VP OF HR & SUSTAINABILITY VISIT ENAEX AUSTRALIA

Enaex CEO, Juan Andrés Errázuriz, and the Vice President of HR & Sustainability, Patricia Valenzuela, visited for the first time Enaex Australia, the newest member of the Enaex family. The objective of this visit was strengthening the bonds with the business units and to talk face to face with the collaborators of those subsidiaries.

Edmundo Jimenez, who leads Enaex Australia together with his executive team, and the Vice President of E3A, Esteban Fisher, accompanied them at all times. The visitors were able to know in detail how the business has developed in the oceanic giant. In addition, they had the opportunity to visit the collaborators of the Boddington Plant, located in the outskirts of Perth, and to share face to face with the client, who in dialogue with Juan Andrés Errázuriz praised Enaex’s work in the deposit.

Both executives were very pleased with the work done to date by the Enaex Australia team, which was able to establish their presence in a competitive market, – shortly after starting operations – and deliver the excellent service that has characterized Enaex globally.

SOUTH AFRICA

I AM ENAEX

Over the last ten months, 43 culture ambassadors have been recruited and approximately 70 operations leaders trained to assist Enaex Africa on a journey to build a corporate culture around the slogan “I am Enaex”.

A series of workshops introduced the culture ambassadors and the operations leaders to the Enaex vision, purpose and shown how to link these to the company values.

Precious Maluleke, Director HR & IC for Enaex Africa, has been leading this project since its inception in June of 2021. “The workshops helped teams create context and meaning of the culture narrative; and more specifically helped them understand their role and responsibility in driving and supporting culture in the organization”.

Apart from looking at the Enaex values, great emphasis is placed on the importance of teams and teamwork. Nyaki Moshoeshoe, Tenders and Contracts manager, is one of our Enaex culture ambassadors. She was nominated by her manager Fabian Jadue. “There has been a definite shift in breaking down silos between teams, but we do still have some way to go. One thing that excites me is that senior management are accessible, and one does not have to follow the chain of command as it were,” says Nyaki.

Eddie Schreuder is financial reporting manager. He became a culture ambassador because he was inspired by the way senior management spoke about the potential of Enaex. “I see success as being able to build others up and help them learn to achieve something that can make their life easier,” says Eddie.

S11D FACTORY IS RECOGNIZED BY VALE AS A REFERENCE IN 5S

In April, the S11D emulsion plant, located in Pará State, was recognized by Vale as a reference in aspects related to 5S, such as organization, safety, and quality. After an inspection carried out by Vale, the factory had its 5S maturity level improved from II to III.

This achievement is an important milestone in the unit’s history: the emulsion plant is the first S11D workstation with a level-III maturity in 5S. For Rafael de Mello, from Vale’s Operational Excellence area, “The team of Enaex Brazil demonstrated how the operational discipline of leadership and the empowerment of its collaborators can transform and improve processes every day.” The factory’s Production Supervisor, Tiago Daniel, reinforces and states: “Such achievement is the result of teamwork towards the same goals in terms of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.”

This recognition is the result of our constant search for excellence, which strengthens our bonds as a team and with our customers.

CHILE

PRILLEX PLANT AND SUPPLIER INNOVATE TOGETHER

Having enough ammonia in stock to keep up with the company’s commitments has always been a major logistical task at the Prillex Plant. Today, thanks to the new contract with the new supplier and the innovative spirit that lies in the production complex, the supply of this raw material has remained stable so far this year.

It all started with the new contract tender that was awarded to the company Nutrien, which asked for a more frequent monitoring of the stock at Prillex in order to ship ammonia. In response to this request, the plant – based on a collaborative work – began to develop a Dashboard where Nutrien could visualize live the supply of raw material and thus, optimally calculate shipments.

Freddy Castillo, Head of Production Planning and Warehouse of Prillex Plant, comments that “before, we were forced to make production adjustments to make the stock yield until the day it arrived at the port”, a methodology that could be affected in case of tidal waves. Today it is different, since with the Dashboard, the supplier can request that the ship speeds up or down according to the consumption of the period.

In concrete numbers, to date, and thanks to the 5 ships received, this innovation has achieved zero plant shutdowns due to ammonia availability and a reduction of losses associated with ammonia unavailability by 50%.

This work would not have been possible without the implementation of digital transformation tools that have been promoted by Prillex Plant for several years. The collaborative work of the Supply, Production, Operational Center of Excellence, Comex and Logistics areas also played an important role in the development of this task.
