With the objective of establishing a more competitive booster supply solution for ENAEX Australia, the Business Support division took the initiative to lead and execute a comprehensive project. The aim was to identify an alternative that could effectively cater to the demands of ENAEX Australia. Concurrently, the project sought to infuse innovation into the Australian market through the introduction of X-Booster, thereby enhancing ENAEX’s competitive edge within the country.
The primary goal of the project encompassed an extensive analysis not only of ENAEX Brasil and Chile but also of potential global suppliers capable of meeting the stringent technical and economic requisites stipulated by the Australian market. Following meticulous evaluations encompassing logistical, legal, technical, and production-related considerations, the project concluded that the optimal course of action was to source X-Boosters from ENAEX Brasil.
The first order has already been confirmed, encompassing 13 containers of X-Boosters (approximately 615 thousand units) and an additional container of DetCord. This consignment is slated for dispatch by the end of 2023.
Embodying a transversal approach characteristic of projects championed by the Business Support division, this endeavor was meticulously orchestrated to meet ENAEX Australia’s requisites. Collaboratively executed with cross-functional teams from ENAEX Asia, Brazil, and Chile, the project received invaluable support from various sectors with approximately 25 individuals participating in different capacities throughout various phases. This venture highlights collaboration, result-oriented focus, and a commitment to excellence. Indeed, it underscores that we are GREAT.
From August 29th to 31st, Enaex Brasil joined Exposibram Belém, one of the most relevant mining events in Latin America. About 15,000 visitors checked in the fair. The stand had joint participation of Enaex Brasil, MTi Group, O-Pitblast and Sigdo Koppers Ingieneria y Construccion (SKIC).
In the 2023 edition, Enaex Brasil won the Best Stand award in the “Visitor Vote” category. “For the third time we have won this prize for best stand at Exposibram. This recognition is the result of the relentless search for ways to ensure the best experience for participants and maximize the perception of our orientation towards the business challenges of our customers”, highlights João Sorbile, Vice President of Enaex Brasil.
Innovative products such DaveyTronic Swift® and Densiex® caught the attention of visitors.
Regarding ESG aspects, the 17m² of booth covering the stand will be converted into raw material for making institutional bags. These bags are made by a non-governmental organization mobilized by Enaex and the initiative enhances the generation of alternative sources of income for vulnerable communities.
After three years of development and trials, the first Stopex™ pumps are ready for action. Unlike traditional in-stope emulsion pumps, Stopex uses digitalisation and progressive cavity pump technology to enhance efficiency, precision and safety.
“The development of the Stopex™ small pump fits perfectly into our key mission at Enaex of Humanizing Mining. We’re using technology to both increase efficiency and improve safety. We feel we now have the Rolls Royce of small pumps to offer our customers,” says Ruben Olivier, Manager: Innovation, Robotics and CBS (Centralised Blasting Systems).
The pumps will also be able to offer near real-time information to mine management on how much product has been used in a shift and how much blasting has taken place.
Key features of Stopex™
Improved safety: The Stopex™ pump is equipped with pressure and temperature sensors to monitor and regulate the conditions during the pumping process, providing an extra layer of safety and preventing hazardous situations.
Digitalised operation: Incorporates advanced digital technology for enhanced precision and control, as well as a wrong pump function to prevent unauthorised use.
Progressive cavity pump: Provide increased pumping speed, accurate quantity control and wastage elimination.
Enhanced efficiency: Optimised pumping process results in increased productivity and reduced downtime.
Versatile application: Suitable for charging blast holes in conventional underground mines across various minerals and rock formations.
The company with its solid sustainability strategy based on the ESG pillars (Environment, Social and Corporate Governance), is committed to “Humanizing the Mining Industry”. Its community focus is materialized in various social projects, especially in Education and Community Development.
