ENAEX INTRODUCES A NEW CORPORATE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT AREA

To stay competitive and take proactive measures to safeguard Intellectual Property (IP) assets, Enaex has created a new area called “Corporate Intellectual Property Management”.

The main objective of this division will be to centralize and assist authors and creators of new products through the IP implementation process, including patents, trade secrets, trademarks, and copyrights. Another objective is to create awareness of the matter along with a forward-thinking strategy to protect products from being blocked by third parties. They will also monitor IP activity in the industry to make better decisions and adapt strategies in line with market and regulatory changes.

Riaan Van Wyk, Research & Development Manager, said, “The competitive landscape in terms of Intellectual Property has changed in recent years. Our competitors are being more proactive in terms of IP, and we need to be able to respond to that.”

If you have an idea or creation that could be protected as Intellectual Property (patent, trade secret, trademark, or copyright) or would like more information about this matter, please contact us at patents@enaex.com

THIS WAS ENAEX'S SOCIAL PERFORMANCE IN 2023!

During 2023, the company worked hard to develop Shared Value and Social Projects in every community around the world where we operate, leading to a social investment of USD 803,400. These efforts positively impacted more than 9,100 people through Philanthropy and Social Projects initiatives, which were conducted in more than 17 communities worldwide.

Our Shared Value Strategy is based on collaboration and the development of projects that generate benefits for both, the company, and the various stakeholders in the communities. These projects include initiatives such as the Alternancia Dual in collaboration with Chile Dual, where students obtain practical experience in our facilities, from mining operations to offices.  Another example of social project was the “Early Childhood” at the Bohlale Day Care Center in South Africa where employees are dedicated to educating and training the children of the Ga Phash Village. This showcases their commitment to the integral development of the communities.

In 2023, the number of projects executed was higher than in 2022. More than 24 social projects were consolidated, which were     focused on education, positive impact on women’s groups, indigenous communities, technical high school students and environmental organizations.

For 2024, Enaex has outlined an expansion of its policy, focusing on the expansion of shared value projects, the presentation of the first Sustainability Report and the integral measurement of the carbon footprint.

MINE IN BRAZIL RECEIVES PILOT TESTS OF THE NEW GENERATION OF DAVEYTRONIC® INITIATION SYSTEMS

Pilot tests with the DaveyTronic® 5 have been carried out at the Serrote mine, owned by customer Mineração Vale Verde (MVV), in the state of Alagoas, Brazil. These blasts are part of the overall planning of field pilots with the new generation of DT5 detonators and electronic initiation systems.

The new generation brings more safety and efficiency. Among the main new features, the systems offers robust protection against atmospheric discharges and electrical current leaks. In the new version, it is possible to program time delay up to 30,000 milliseconds, with a minimum dispersion of 0.003%. Remote dismantling can be carried out using a Wifi/Bluetooth connection. Yet, there are also improvements in the user experience (UX), who can now program and execute blasts using a touch screen panel.
