ENAEX CHILE ACHIEVES CARBON FOOTPRINT CERTIFICATION AFTER VERIFICATION!

Following a rigorous process, Enaex Chile has secured a certification letter for its carbon footprint across all scopes: 1, 2, and 3.
This certification, obtained in compliance with the ISO 14064-3 standard and through greenhouse gas inventory quantification evaluated according to GHG Protocol requirements, underscores our dedication to environmental sustainability. The assessed inventory amounts to a total of 1,038,469 tons of CO2 equivalent for the period spanning from 01/01/2023 to 12/31/2023, a value verified by SGS, an external consultant.

Measuring our carbon footprint provides comprehensive insights into the environmental impact of our operations. By verifying all three scopes, we gain a holistic view of both direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions associated with our company. This enables us to take accountability for our role in climate change.

Led by Valeria Valencia, Sustainability Analyst in the Environmental Department, and involving various company departments, this process marks a significant milestone in our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Massive thank you and congratulations to everyone involved for their incredible hard work and dedication with the mobilisation of this project over the past few months. ENAEX BRAZIL TAKES ANOTHER STEP TOWARDS DECARBONIZATION

Enaex Brasil’s Strategic Planning 2027 establishes as fundamental pillars growth, efficiency, adding value to customers and the promotion of good practices related to people management and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance). One of the objectives is to begin implementing measures aimed at decarbonization, aiming to reduce the use of fossil fuels in part of our fleet and the adoption of photovoltaic systems for distributed generation of renewable energy.

In this sense, one of the most recent initiatives adopted by Enaex Brasil was the introduction of an electric truck at the Quatro Barras Site. This vehicle is used to collect waste from industrial, service and administrative areas. Every month, approximately 100 tons of waste are collected and sent to a sorting center for subsequent disposal. Replacing the previous combustion engine-powered truck to the new electric truck will result in a significant reduction in fossil fuel consumption, avoiding the use of 6,600 liters of diesel oil and the emission of approximately 15.7 tons of CO2 per year.

In addition to the adoption of the electric truck, Enaex also installed an electric station, thus strengthening its infrastructure for electric vehicles.

ENAEX AUSTRALIA MARKS MILESTONE IN INNOVATION JOURNEY

In a significant stride forward for innovation, Enaex Australia has reached a crucial milestone. From February 5 to 8, at the Bulga Downs firing range in Western Australia, the EIS & Innovation team in collaboration with EMTS, conducted field validation testing on the groundbreaking DT5 system. This testing phase precedes the planned implementation of the system at RTIO in the upcoming months.

The primary objective of this testing was to validate the functionalities essential to meet the customers’ needs and to subject the new system to real-world environmental conditions. Such testing is paramount in ensuring that the system performs optimally in diverse scenarios. Naturally, this process involved a significant learning curve and provided invaluable feedback to the development team in France. This feedback loop is crucial in ensuring that the system’s performance aligns seamlessly with customer expectations.

At the culmination of these rigorous test procedures, the team achieved a remarkable feat: the successful firing of 800 Daveytronic 5G detonators with the brand-new Daveytronic 5G control equipment. This achievement not only demonstrates the capabilities of the DT5 system but also marks the first live DT5G firing globally. It is a testament to the concerted efforts of both the French development teams and our local teams in Australia.

As Enaex Australia celebrate this important first step, preparations are already underway for the first trials at RTIO, with the inaugural trial blast scheduled imminently. We congratulate the EIS and EMTS teams for their exceptional dedication and hard work in reaching this significant milestone.
