ENAEX BRAZIL INNOVATES WITH NITRATE RAIL TRANSPORT OF AMMONIUM NITRATE

Enaex Brazil inaugurated a new logistics era with the start of ammonium nitrate transportation by rail, a strategic advance that positions the Cezarina plant at the forefront of operational efficiency and sustainable practices.

The end of 2024 saw the operational test with the inaugural shipment of a container, a milestone that validated the operation and allowed adjustments to be made for the ramp-up phase. The implementation of this new mode of transport involved financial analysis, operation of the rail network and licensing by the Brazilian Army.

As of February 2025, the plan is to transport 300 tons per month, which can be expanded according to demand. For Daniel Seyfferth, Supply Chain Director, “in addition to providing a significant reduction in logistics costs, the choice of rail offers many advantages, such as lower environmental impact, greater loading capacity and, above all, greater safety, since rail is less susceptible to accidents”.

Daniel Oliveira, Director of Operations and Engineering, adds, “Rail transport demonstrates our commitment to efficiency and ESG principles, positioning Enaex in line with global trends in sustainability and innovation”.
