Enaex Brasil launched the second version of the Roboarm, a robotic truck designed to enhance operational safety and optimize blasting performance in underground mines. The equipment is the result of a collaborative project between the operations, engineering, and innovation teams, initiated in 2022.
After delivering the prototype in 2023, the Roboarm was upgraded based on customer needs. Enhancements included a 10-meter robotic arm with 360° rotation, a redesigned joystick system for more precise control, and an increased emulsion tank capacity from 5 to 6 tons. The unit was recently delivered to Pan American Silver at the Jacobina/BA mine, and underwent technical validation, surface testing, and operator training.
According to Diogo Barros, National Operations Manager, this second version provides increased safety during uphole charging and boosts productivity—two fundamental pillars for the sustainability of the business. He adds that the application of technology, process digitalization, and reduced worker exposure are essential elements in the mining 4.0 industry. With this advancement, Enaex once again positions itself at the forefront of the Brazilian underground mining sector.
