Prillex® ECO₂ completed its first year of operation at CODELCO (Corporación Nacional del Cobre de Chile), establishing itself as a concrete solution for moving toward mining with a smaller environmental footprint. Its implementation in the Radomiro Tomic and Chuquicamata divisions marks a milestone in the incorporation of cleaner products into the mining chain.
During this period, the use of Prillex® ECO₂ reduced CO₂ emissions by nearly 21,400 tons, an impact equivalent to taking approximately 18,500 vehicles off the road, planting 214,000 trees, or taking 4.5 heavy-duty trucks out of operation for a year.
These results reflect how innovation applied to critical mining inputs can generate measurable environmental benefits, contributing in a concrete way to the goal of advancing toward carbon neutrality in the sector and thus contributing to the Humanization of Mining.

The Lindero Mine operation, located in the province of Salta, incorporated the DaveyTronic 5 electronic initiation system for the first time in the country, marking a milestone in the Argentine mining industry. The implementation included the first blasts carried out with this technology, positioning the operation as a benchmark in innovation and efficiency in blasting processes.
During the process, communication and system verification tests were carried out to ensure its correct operation under real operating conditions. A comprehensive training program was also developed for the personnel involved, with the aim of ensuring the safe and efficient use of the new technology.
The implementation was supported by technical assistance from a specialist from Enaex France, who provided on-site support and validation. The grids were programmed manually and automatically, with one-to-one connections and in line, allowing for correct identification of the detonators and precise compliance with the initiation times defined in the blasting design.
A total of 20 users from Mansfield and Enaex participated, receiving theoretical and practical training both in the office and in the field. This initiative reaffirms Enaex Argentina’s commitment to technological innovation and the continuous improvement of blasting processes in Argentine mining.
