ENAEX WILL BE GREAT THIS YEAR!

A total of 960 people joined the launch of the Excellence value on April 19, through the Zoom platform. This event was led by Juan Andrés Errazuriz, CEO; Patricia Valenzuela, People & Sustainability Vice President; Pablo Busquet, CFO; and Claudio Yévenes, Vice President of Enaex Chemicals.

In a dynamic presentation, our leaders talked about the growth of the company, the challenges in innovation and artificial intelligence, and how we have been differentiating ourselves to date to achieve our vision of becoming the industry’s top choice. They talked about the importance of our PEOPLE, our culture, and how we have differentiated ourselves. Finally, they took the step to launch our latest corporate value “Our Obsession EXCELLENCE”, synthesized in a single word “GREAT”, which means excellent or very good. And we also wanted to transform GREAT into an acronym to represent the meaning that our company wants to give to the value of Excellence. Thus, G stands for Get Results, R for Rigor, E for Efficiency, A for Accountability, and T for Time. These 5 concepts must point to a work that generates results, with a rigorous methodology, that is efficient, taking charge of our responsibilities and fulfilling our commitments on time. This is the way we will achieve excellence and explore new horizons.

ENAEX ARGENTINA INCORPORATES FAULT DIAGNOSIS IN REMOTE MODEz

Enaex Argentina’s team has incorporated a remote fault diagnosis method at PLC level in explosives manufacturing equipment in its operational model. This will reduce the time required to provide solutions to possible failures in the equipment in any of the operational sites where our business is developed.

The incorporation was achieved through a remote wizard with a connection to a PC on site that is connected to the programmable logic controller in question. Once linked to the equipment, the status of the digital inputs and outputs is verified (electro-pneumatic valves open instantaneously when pumping starts, send an electrical signal to the PLC – on-off control – and the system allows observing which valve or which digital input element is faulty).

The entire implementation has been carried out with our local engineering and maintenance team, an improvement highly valued by our clients.

CEO AND PEOPLE & SUSTAINABILITY VICE PRESIDENT VISIT ENAEX AFRICA

In mid-February, Enaex CEO, Juan Andrés Errázuriz, and People and Sustainability Vice President, Patricia Valenzuela, visited South Africa to meet with partners, clients, and employees.

During this visit to South Africa, Juan Andres met with key clients and partners at Sasol. He visited Secunda accompanied by Enaex Africa CEO, Francisco Baudrand, and Dr. Mandla Gantsho, the main shareholder of the corporate finance advisory firm, Afris, a partner of BBBEE (Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment) and a member of the Board of Directors of Enaex Africa.

Patricia took advantage of her time in South Africa to share with the people in the field, learn about some of the challenges facing the region, and reiterate the vital place Enaex Africa has in the global Enaex family.

ENAEX AFRICA REACHED MILESTONE IN BBBEE PROGRAM

Enaex Africa was certified as a Level 2 BBBEE (Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment) compliant in the last audit conducted at the end of February 2023. This is an important milestone that shows Enaex Africa’s commitment to transformation and diversity.

BBBEE is a program that the South African government has put in place to promote an equal opportunity economy. The objective of BBBEE is to empower previously disadvantaged or discriminated people to regain what they lost as a result of their discrimination.

“We have said from the beginning that we believe in diversity, transformation, and doing things with a specific goal in mind.   We want to have the right people in the right positions from a business point of view, and we are promoting young professionals and women for that,” affirmed Francisco Baudrand, CEO of Enaex Africa.

Comfort Mathenjwa, Sales and Marketing Director of Enaex Africa, is proud of what the company has achieved in a short time. “I can take a great message to our team, current and potential clients. My colleagues can see that we are committed to addressing the challenges of our past while getting the right mix of people across the organization.”

Working in order to consolidate this Level 2 will continue with a focus on internal skills development such as the YES program, Young Professionals and external procurement initiatives that support local businesses.

ENAEX BRAZIL CARRIES OUT ACTIONS TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF FEMALE EMPLOYEES

People and ESG is one of the pillars of Strategic Planning both in Enaex Brazil and Enaex Global. In this context, the company is part of the Women in Mining Brazil (WIM Brazil) movement, which aims to expand and strengthen the presence of women in the mining industry. Our goal as a company is for female talent to account for at least 30% of the workforce by 2030. PERU IMPLEMENTS SELECTIVE BLASTING IN NARROW VEINS AT KOLPA MINE WITH DAVEYTRONIC SWIFT DETONATORS

On Saturday, March 4, the implementation of selective blasting with DaveyTronic SWIFT detonators began with our client Kolpa, following successful tests conducted between July and August, 2022.

During the whole month of March, a total of 60 blasting operations and a consumption of 1,378 detonators have been successfully conducted without any major mishap. This application developed at Kolpa has brought both operational and economic benefits to the client, increasing its monthly production by 1,300 tons of high value ore. This translates into an added value of more than 100,000 USD to the operation. The Enaex Peru team will continue working to add value to the client.

ENAEX PERU EMPLOYEES AND OUR CLIENT ANGLOAMERICAN PARTICIPATED IN THE REFORESTATION OF QUEÑUA

On March 7, our client AngloAmerican, through its Environmental Affairs Management, carried out the Queñuas Afforestation campaign as part of its “QUELLAVECO LEAVES A GREEN FOOTPRINT” project.

The queñua is a shrub typical of highland climates with a very important characteristic: it prevents soil erosion. However, today it is a vulnerable species. Therefore, as part of its commitment to environmental protection, Anglo American proposed afforestation of the Quellaveco Project with this species.

We are glad of having our employees participate together with the client in an initiative that is very relevant for our company, as is the care of the environment.

Congratulations to: Diana Pumacahua – Floor Operator, Aracely Huayta – Floor Operator, Xiomara Valdivia – Administrative Assistant, Lenin Ayala – Ssoma Supervisor, and Sarita Carrillo – Administrative Assistant for their valuable participation in this important initiative.
