BOS: STRENGTHENING OUR SAFETY FOUNDATIONS

“Let’s Make a Deal” is a global campaign that takes many forms. One of them is training, because building a true safety culture requires that each person understand not only the rules, but also the reasoning behind them.

That’s why, as part of this campaign, the Safety Fundamentals (BOS) course is available to all Enaex employees across all business units. It’s a key opportunity to strengthen the knowledge that underpins safe operations: from how to prevent unwanted events to how to minimize their consequences and protect people, operations, and the environment.

If you haven’t completed it yet, now is the time: the course has been available since June 24, and the deadline to pass it is July 29.

Because we all work together to build safety. Let’s make a deal.

LOA RIVER: A TRADITION THAT UNITES ENAEX AND THE COMMUNITY

As part of Environment Month, the Río Loa HSEC team led another cleanup of the Río Loa, bringing together Enaex employees and community representatives in an initiative that has already become a tradition.

During the activity, nearly 300 kg of waste—mainly plastics, glass, and tires—were removed, contributing to the conservation of Chile’s longest river and the ecosystems and communities that depend on it.

More than just a cleanup event, this initiative reflects Enaex’s commitment to caring for the environment and demonstrates that working together with communities is key to building an increasingly sustainable mining industry. Through actions like this, we continue to bring our purpose of “Caring for Life” to life.

ENAEX AUSTRALIA BEGINS TESTING THE REVO ROBOTIC SYSTEM AT A BHP MINE

Enaex Australia reached a major milestone with the deployment of its REVO robotic system, with initial testing beginning in June at the Carrapateena Copper Mine, operated by BHP in South Australia.

Following its successful deployment to the site, the system began operations in development areas, while the next phase will involve testing in production environments to continue validating its performance under real-world conditions.

During this initial phase, REVO is operating with conventional wired systems and electronic components, demonstrating its ability to integrate with existing processes while driving the automation of underground operations.

This advancement reaffirms Enaex Australia’s commitment to innovation and the development of technological solutions that contribute to safer, more efficient, and more sustainable mining.

COURSE ON THE RIGHT TO REFUSE REINFORCES SAFETY AS A PRIORITY

In May, Enaex Brazil launched a mandatory course on the Right to Refuse at Enaex Academy, our online training platform. The initiative reinforces a clear message: safety is a prerequisite for achieving sustainable results, and there can be no performance, quality, or excellence without safety.

The right to refuse is an essential principle of the Code of Ethics and Conduct in Brazil. It ensures that every employee has the right and duty to stop or refuse to start an activity upon identifying an unsafe condition. Exercising this right is not disobedience, but rather acting with responsibility, maturity, and care for others.

A recent example occurred at one of our clients’ sites, the Santa Rita Mine operated by Atlantic Nickel, where a team halted an activity after identifying an unsafe condition. This decision reinforces our commitment to life.

An activity should only continue when it is safe. This attitude reinforces our global agreement: I look out for you, you look out for me, and together we look out for one another.

ENAEX ARGENTINA CONDUCTS SUCCESSFUL REMOTE INITIATION TEST AT MINERA SANTA CRUZ

Enaex Argentina successfully conducted tests of the DaveyTronic UG remote initiation system at the Mina Frea, Mina Kospi, and Mina Huevos Verdes underground operations, which belong to Minera Santa Cruz, in the province of Santa Cruz.

The tests involved measurements at various points in each of the mines, with satisfactory communication achieved at all 15 evaluated points. The implementation of this technology enables remote blasting from the surface, enhancing operational safety and reinforcing the value “Our Priority: Life.”

The results also demonstrated significant operational benefits.

In a scenario with eight blasting fronts per shift, the system reduces the required personnel by approximately 62% (from 16 to 6 people), cuts the number of vehicles used by 63% (from 8 to 3), and saves nearly 30 minutes per shift—equivalent to 45 hours per month—thanks to greater efficiency in the initiation, coordination, and transportation processes.

The experience was highly valued by Minera Santa Cruz and reaffirms Enaex Argentina’s commitment to innovation, the development of solutions that add value for its customers, and increasingly safe and efficient mining operations.
