JKTech selects Enaex to develop digital solutions for the mining industry

JKTech, a technology transfer company and subsidiary of The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, has entered into a long-term partnership with Enaex to develop and implement digital solutions aimed at improving the efficiency of mining operations. The twenty-year partnership brings together Enaex’s operational experience, international reach and close relationships with mining customers with JKTech’s scientific expertise and technology development capabilities, alongside the knowledge of UQ researchers and academics.

The first stage includes the exclusive use and distribution of JK Value Based Ore Control (JKVBOC) in LATAM and Africa. This technology simulates material movement following a blast. Its application will support more selective extraction, reduce ore loss and dilution, optimize digging and material blending strategies, and improve the information available for downstream operational processes.

The agreement will also enable Enaex teams to use JKVBOC to develop services and projects, with the option of offering the solution to customers. Both companies will also work on integrating JKVBOC with Bright, Enaex’s digital ecosystem.

The alliance is the result of nearly three years of joint work and was designed with a long-term vision. Although this first stage will focus on JKVBOC, both organizations will seek to extend the collaboration to new solutions that address other challenges across the mining value chain.

Enaex Brazil begins operating Quadra Energy Control at Anglo American

In early October, Enaex Brazil began operating its new Quadra Energy Control mobile manufacturing truck at Mina do Sapo, Anglo American’s iron ore operation in Minas Gerais, Brazil. This solution expands the ability to customize the energy of explosives used in the field, enabling greater adaptability to the geological, operational and environmental conditions of blasting operations.

According to Alexsandro Falcão, Southeast, South and Remote Areas Services Manager at Enaex Brazil, Quadra Energy Control significantly enhances operational flexibility by enabling explosive energy levels to be adjusted to the needs of each blasting operation. It is also the first mobile manufacturing truck in Brazil equipped with Enaex Bright Fleet, paving the way for more efficient fleet management integrated with blasting projects.

As the technology evolves, it will enable the integration of telemetry data, pumping parameters and product quality data, making this information available in the cloud to support faster, more accurate and results-oriented decision-making.

Enaex Brazil recognizes the contribution of all the professionals who helped make this operation a reality, reinforcing its ability to evolve, innovate and deliver solutions that create value for customers.

Enaex receives new recognition for innovation, sustainability and customer engagement

In recent weeks, Enaex has received several recognitions highlighting its teams’ work in innovation, sustainability and the development of solutions for the mining industry.

At the Circular Awards 2026, the company took first place in the Zero Emissions Challenge category, Large Companies segment, for its project Clean Products: Decarbonization of Products for the Mining Supply Chain. Organized by Fundación Desafío Circular, the awards received more than 290 submissions. Clean Products has achieved a verified reduction of approximately 40% in its carbon footprint and, through Prillex ECO₂, Enaex has helped reduce approximately 45,000 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent across the mining value chain.

Beyond its achievements in sustainability, Enaex was also recognized in Phibrand’s Mining Suppliers Ranking, a distinction that reflects customer appreciation and highlights the work of its teams in areas such as operational excellence, innovation, safety and sustainability. The recognition also highlights Enaex’s approach to working with customers, based on long-term relationships, responsiveness and close technical support in the field. The solutions highlighted include X-Booster ECO₂ and Prillex ECO₂, as well as the collaborative work behind their development, including field trials and joint validation processes with customers.

Enaex’s achievements also extend to innovation, with the company ranking 23rd in the Most Innovative Companies 2026 ranking. The analysis highlights Enaex’s innovation management “on a global scale” and identifies, among other developments, Pirex-S, an explosive emulsion used as a bulk blasting agent in mining. The study identifies Pirex-S as “the project with the greatest economic impact in its portfolio,” linking its development to improvements in the overall performance of the mining process beyond blasting itself.

Together, these recognitions highlight different dimensions of the work carried out by Enaex teams, from innovation and solution development to decarbonization and collaboration with customers in the mining industry.
